Prayer Ministry
We believe that prayer ministry is an important part of the Church because prayer engages our hearts with God. We pray because the Bible encourages believers to pray. Ephesians 6:18 says, “And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.” We believe prayers makes a difference and has an impact in God’s Kingdom. Svemc incorporates “sharing and prayer time” during Sunday services as a time for the congregation to share prayer requests and praise items with one another. This time is valuable because it is where our church gets to support, uplift and pray in faith for one another through Christ Jesus our Lord during a service. “And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way.” (Ephesians 1:22-23)
Our Prayer Shawl ministry makes knitted and crocheted shawls available for our congregants to give to a family member or a friend that is in need of comfort. The shawls are made by people in our congregation and have been a blessing to many that are struggling.
We have a Prayer Chain ministry that is available upon request - whether to ask for prayer or to note a praise item. Anyone is welcome to send us a prayer request and we are happy to pray for you, whether from our community or within the church.
